This will affect some ebid sellers.

From 1 May 2011, traditional herbal medicinal products must be licensed or prescribed by a registered herbal practitioner to comply with an EU directive passed in 2004.

I wonder how far they are going to go with this? Are they going to ban oil burners & incense sticks too?

This won't just affect internet sales here. This will also affect small businesses, like health food shops as they might not be able to afford to have all product licences.

There’s definitely some confusion as to whether this has already been passed or not, no-one really seems to know for sure. It WAS started in 2004, IF it DOES get/is already passed the implications are ridiculous… basic human rights as regards choosing your own healthcare goes out the window, even talking about it would land you in trouble! I have a feeling that SOME of this has been blown out of proportion but…

I have a terrible sleep pattern as I worked night shifts for years. I often use Valerian as it helps me sleep. The stuff 'Kalms' Doesn't work for me. The herbalist will only be able to get the product from a 'Licenced Manufacturer' which as time goes on, the natural components of the herbal remedies will have be manipulated. We will end up with a genetically modified 'Natural' replacement.
This also has a knock on effect as alot of these herbs are grown in the not as wealthy countries.

I Hope I'm wrong but nothing suprises me anymore with these MP's.

maybe.... but maybe herbalists will just go "underground" (no pun intended) just like the old wise woman / wise man of old

mind you "they" might just go the "whole hog" and bring back "the burning times" again
