Thread: Student protest

    Angry Student protest

I agree that everyone should have the right to protest.

    But in a legal way.

They should protest, but not become hooligans, vandals, and animal beaters in the process

Any sympathy I might have had with the students is slowing drifting out the window.

One thing that's just popped into my mind, if they are students, because they should be students, have something in place where they have to enter the protest by showing a NUS card, no card - no protest.

If there is still unlawful protesters in the protest, make sure that they don't get a penny.

But as things happen today, make all those that are found guilty, pay the full cost of the damage, police, and any other directly related cost. But the law is an ....

Wasn't aware of the desecration to Churchill's statue

Having seen the pictures over the last few days, it is apparent that a lot of 'students' are from fringe elements just enjoying the chance to disrupt a valid protest with violence. We spotted kids who couldn't be more than twelve or thirteen. What were they doing there?

Admit I have not seen the news yet but can image the goings on. Perfect time of the year to turn the fire hoses on them.

Also make sure that any arrested are given a criminal record and see how much their degree is worth when they try to find employment with that.

Personally I would like to see how much they have to pay discounted based on the grades they get.

That is a good idea, Astral.

I would like to see the entry level raised, full stop. There are far too many students getting into university with 'D' grades. I worked darned hard to secure my place and darned hard to get a degree worth having. I justified my place. Many did not.
