The credit card companies seem to be getting very hot on this.
Couple of weeks, son had 2 transactions rejected online. After the 2nd one he called his cc company - they rejected them because they thought it was a "dubious" transaction - didn't bother to contact him though. I was not at all impressed, neither was he; he's now applied for a different card with another company.
My card has just expired and I was issued with a new one, which means that I've had to update my Paypal and Moneybookers info.
Late last night I went through the MB verification process, where they charge a small amount to your card - at 10 am this morning I had a call from the "Fraud Prevention Department" of my CC company announcing possible dubious activity and could I go through my recent transactions with them. Funny thing was, that the instore (chip&pin) transaction were given to me by date with the store and amount. When it came to MB he said: "and a couple of days ago a MB transaction" My response: "No, that was last night and for £xx" Cleared things up straight away - thank goodness.
