there is very little on T.V. that makes me laugh but.... having spent a lot of my working life working with Jews in the jewlery trade I have come to appreciate Jewish humour, in particular Jackie Mason

I'll kick off (only fair!) and say I love Father Ted and the IT Crowd (same writer) and my favourite all time sitcoms are Dads' Army and Porridge. QI and Mock the Week make me laugh too. Can't stand The Catherine Tate Show, and sat through one whole episode of Outnumbered without a smile, while people I love and respect fell about laughing. I think you might have to be a parent to get that one. ;o)

I like geeky jokes like this one: How does an elephant get down from a tree? Traditionally, via gravity, at an acceleration of 9.81 metres per second (squared). But also Viz and The Fat Slags. I love Dilbert, and Calvin & Hobbes.

    What makes you laugh?
The answer to how an elephant gets down out of a tree is, he doesn't. Elephants can't climb trees.
Since were on the subject of elephants and trees..... What time of day do elephants jump out of trees?.....Between 2 and 4 in the afternoon. What is the soft black mush between elephants toes? Natives who went into the jungle between 2 and 4 in the afternoon! Eeuuw!

Why do elephants have big round feet?

Ooh Carl Hiaasen, yes, read them all - hilarious. I love a bit of "surreal". In the book line I came to Stephanie Plum quite late - have you tried those, Jean? Very funny.
