    Default What makes you laugh?

Following on from a post I made down there (waves hands about a bit) I've been thinking about how much people's sense of humour varies, even amongst folk with similar interests and tastes. So it would be interesting to get a snap shot of what makes some of us laugh - and what doesn't!

I'll kick off (only fair!) and say I love Father Ted and the IT Crowd (same writer) and my favourite all time sitcoms are Dads' Army and Porridge. QI and Mock the Week make me laugh too. Can't stand The Catherine Tate Show, and sat through one whole episode of Outnumbered without a smile, while people I love and respect fell about laughing. I think you might have to be a parent to get that one. ;o)

I like geeky jokes like this one: How does an elephant get down from a tree? Traditionally, via gravity, at an acceleration of 9.81 metres per second (squared). But also Viz and The Fat Slags. I love Dilbert, and Calvin & Hobbes.

    What makes you laugh?

Ooh yes, agree with all that. The first time I saw him thrashing the mini I laughed so hard I cried.

funny you should mention "no no no no yes"

Lee Evan's is super, smashing great!

I love quick wit and repartee - I just love it when someone accidentally feeds me a good opening line.

There's very little that actually makes me laugh out loud but stuff that makes me smile and has given the occasional belly laugh includes:

Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Larry Sanders Show, early to mid Simpsons, some Family Guy episodes, pretty much anything by Vic and Bob, Jerry Sadowitz, Have I Got News For You, Bill Bailey, The Big Lebowski, some Monty Python stuff especially Life of Brian, Sam & Max PC games (or pretty much anything by Telltale Games), IT Crowd, Alan Partridge, Not the Nine O'Clock News and, of course, Shabbird's weekly footy predictions

Rock, Pop, Indie, Dance and more CDs
