Question Bulk photo upload advice please

I have done a search of the threads but can't find quite what I'm looking for.

I wanted to upload loads of photos into my gallery ready to load some sales on later into one of my shops. However I could only work out how to upload one at a time. Is there an easier way to upload several photos?

    Thanks for any advice.

Create a zip file of your photos and use the gallery upload as normal, but put the zip file name in instead of a single picture.

In my version of windows (vista) it's as simple as selecting all the pics I want zipped, then right click and using "send to compressed folder".

Well I thought I'd sussed it. Put them all in a zip file. Then went to gallery selected browse and selected my zip file, then left computer overnight and by the morning they had still not uploaded. Been trying it again for the last two hours or so and they are still not uploading. What am I doing wrong? I could have done them all individually by now. There are about 35 pics in total.

    Maybe daft questions but...

Did you click on the Upload Image button after selecting your .zip file?

Did your filename end with the .zip extension (e.g. mypics.zip)?

    Hi Mel,

Yes I just went back to check what I did and yes to both answers. I'm puzzled. Am I trying to upload too many pics do you think? There are 30+ in the zipped file.

There was this post by Gazza a bit back: http://meetup.ebid.net/showpost.php?...68&postcount=5

This would indicate a maximum file size of 10MB. Not totally clear if he means for an individual image, a zip file, or either.

BTW. If the above does provide an answer to the problem then worth a support ticket. You should at least get an error message if the uploaded file is too large - rather than the whole lot being left in a state of limbo with no clue as to why.
