I started out as an Office Junior and was paid monthly. My salary all went to my Mum for first couple of years. When I went on my own "can" I thought I was the bees knees but couldn't budget to save my life! First two weeks after pay day - fine. Tapped Mum for next two. Pay day again - paid Mum back what I owed her .... and so on. Talk about a vicious circle!!!

Blimey Jay, that goes back a few years. Honestly can't remember - do remember, that my mum wanted a cut from it though for my "food and lodgings".
Also, I managed to save enough money in a year to buy myself a brand new small car, a little Fiat ( I think my dad put something towards it, which I paid back out of my next pay packet).

My first job was me paper round, 150 papers per night 6 nights a week and I got 8shillings, I was sooooo chuft when I went home with my first little brown envelope, then Dad announced you will give your mother 2/6 towards housekeeping every week. I saved and saved to buy a microscope,
