Life is serious but taking it too seriously robs you of
happiness, fun and productivity
I started out as an Office Junior and was paid monthly. My salary all went to my Mum for first couple of years. When I went on my own "can" I thought I was the bees knees but couldn't budget to save my life! First two weeks after pay day - fine. Tapped Mum for next two. Pay day again - paid Mum back what I owed her .... and so on. Talk about a vicious circle!!!

1972 - first weeks wages were £21.00.
Straight to pub - cant remember what i spent it on - but it was a terrific weekend so I was told.
Me grandkids get more pocket now than I had wages then.
I remember being 'proud' to pay my 'lodge' and being a little more than worried about the reclassification of my status.
Then I got piffed!![]()
