I think some people expressed ideas on this subject based on what were proven to be lies printed by some sections of the media (like the myth about EU rules on bananas must be not be too bent) and those lies seeped into what people thought were facts.

Ahh right, yeah I do remember a lot of stuff flying around for a few months, I seem to remember that the policeman in charge turned out to be a bit of a dud too I think.

I will accept that some lies were printed in the media but what is not in dispute is that these 2 supposedly educated parents felt that a meal with their friends was more important than their 3 little children..

That is not expressing ideas based on lies but TRUTH.
