Thread: should i change my name

It is odd this thing about names. They do go round and round - in and out of fashion.

It also depends where you are - I'm sure to European buyers any of our names would not conjure a picture of anyone of a certain age probably just tell them we are British! Here the name Agnès is very popular - I know several very young people called Agnès - but in the UK Agnes is an older generation name. (Stands back and waits to be yelled at by a very young British Agnes!) In Scotland there are more young people called Jean perhaps - it's a lovely name and there are poems and songs about Jean - don't know of any about a Lynne!

When you think about it though it won't be very long (in relation to the history of the world) before there will be home helps supporting people called Kylie and Britney and those will be seen as old Granny names!!

The thought that always boggles my mind is that one day the country will be run by Kylies and Britneys, and possibly even P Diddys, as the names become more mainstream. A Chancellor of the Exchequer called Leona maybe... just sounds wrong.
