Thread: Happy St George's Day folks!

  1. #1

Default Happy St George's Day folks!

Have a good day whatever you're doing.

    Work for me unfortunately.

I wonder if we'll ever get the day made into a bank holiday?

Yorkie, I agree St. Georges Day must be made an official holiday after all the welsh get a holiday when it's St. Patricks day

lol, he'll realise his mistake in a minute.

Because the English need to regain their pride in their country and making St George's day a national holiday and putting on events will help people reconnect and help them to not be afraid to show their love of their country.

The government doesn't have to give us an extra day off every year, they could simply do away with May day or something so that no working days are lost and industry doesn't suffer.

Personally I think it would be a good thing and can't see any harm in it.

    Agree to a certain extent.
As long as it isnt throughout the UK.
The thing is, although many English would say they want it as another bank holiday, or as a replacement of a current bank holiday, I cant see it happening.
The only one I celebrate to any extent is St Andrew's day, and I dont really need or want a day off at the end of November!
Usually too cold, or too busy.

That is also not 100% guaranteed to be true.

Although St Patrick's day is Irish, St Patrick himself was believed by many to be Welsh.
