    Default Collecting

Do you do it because you like what you collect or

Do you do it as an investment?

I collect coz I like them.

But suppose it would make more sense to collect as an investment.

A little from column a and a little from column b,I collect sportscards and sports memorabilia so I am always on the lookout at garage sales and flea markets and such for something to add to my collection or for resale/trade if I know of someone else who is looking for an item I do not collect

Fun I guess being able to combine the both, not fun when having to decide to sell a particular piece to fund a new piece I stumble across,oh the sacrifice and decision making, night sweats headaches when having to possibly part with a treasure of mine lol.

I don't collect. I don't do lots of matching things. Even my dinner plates are all odd. I'm better with "odd".

    I like the odd look

I have basic white crockery and then I snap up any retro patterns I see going cheap to mix and match.

Odd chairs at an old wooden table look great too.

    I like quirky.

I collect coins and would classify myself as a collector/investor. The collector side will buy a coin that I need in my set with little respect to price and no intention of selling. The investor side will buy most any numismatic item if I think it is a good buy and/or will increase in value in the near future.

I collect records because I love them. I love to listen to them number 1, but I also love owning an original or at least a proper vinyl copy - (So having a track on a CD just isn't the same)

Not really bought as an investment, although I do obviously like making a bit if I do sell a record - But my main records get played, so by the time I come to sell them they may not have such a high value.

If I didn't enjoy my records by istening to them, I wouldn't see any point in buying them.

For those who aren't fussy about filtering what I sell - Take a look at ALL my stuff above. - But for more specific listings, take a peek in the stores below.

TOY-PALLOI - For all sorts of traditional playthings!

THE PAPERBOYS PLEASURE - For Books & Magazines

    OUT ON THE FLOOR - For Records - (mainly 1950's - 60's)

    VIEWPOINT - Photographic Equipment

THE SCRAPYARD - Spare parts for old cars and bikes

Since it all began i have collected about 5000 cds and still going strong.

I sometimes buy for a mix and or just old memories.

From this collection i sell a few that are worth selling and i will sell /list cds that i no longer listen to.

Obviously ile buy bargains, if you have a knowledge then its hard not to see a bargain that could sell for good dosh a little later down the road.

Buy some, sell some, not always selling whats been bought, but sometimes have a clear out.
I see it as a collecting hobby that kind of pays for itself.

    Music.
Plato says when the music of a society changes, the whole society will
    change.
Aristotle, a contemporary of Plato's, says when music changes there should be laws to govern the nature and the character of that music.
Lenin says that the best and the quickest way to undermine any society is through its music!

Say It As You See It.
