Default Another reason ebid needs a nickname

Here is an except from a thread on ebya's forum about leaving ebay and knowing where to go as a seller.

"the growing sites are the river, moon, ranch and spider. last time i checked spider was over 6 million visits a month.

    I sat on a bench
down the lane from the ranch
under the moon that lit the river
    and along came a spider
    that caused me to jump
    into kats lap"

As I have said before ebid needs a nickname, as it hardly gets mentioned in threads such as those above. That poem mentions 5 sites but not ebid !

I have been using The Hammer as a nickname for ebid (one of Bykimbos suggestions) and I am now seeing it starting to be used by others.

We need to promote ebid as a viable site for disgruntled ebay users so that more of them come here.

I must be seeing things or I dreamt it. This post has been on before??

Sorry but the only nickname I know is the river, I have no idea who the others are.

I recognise 'the river'...but none of the others.

There isn't much point in nicknaming a site if only the members know what you are talking about

The subject was raised before, but this looks like a different post. I'm not sure about the need for a nickname or the use of it, but I was happy to make suggestions if they were wanted, and I support the OP's enthusiastic attempt to spread the good word in an acceptable, rule-respecting way.

The other sites are... ah, I can't say. But I know most of the references above.

... I am with eBid - don't have no truck with all these water features

EDIT: and as I have just proved on another Thread I have enough trouble with the name eBid without trying to remember a nickname

Obviously I'm just an ignoramus then!!

Edited to say - there is no need to enlighten me - I actually don't care!

If you really feel the need to visit those depressing negative forums over on fe-ebay there is this thread in the business seller board:

"How does Ebay Compare to Amazon and Ebid Comments please ? "

& so no need to hide behind nicknames...
Of course the best way to bring people to ebid is...to SELL what people WANT on EBID

Only need to use nickname is to fly under the radar on other site's forums. Secret way to get them to come here? I don't think so, people chose ebid because its the #1 alternative auction site. That is plastered all over the web. I doubt spreading around a nickname is worth the effort, people have been coming here for months without secret names on feebay.

I don't know how they got away with that one.. I was on the feebay forums today posting about how I just signed up over here today and my thread got yanked as soon as someone mentioned the word B******** (the ranch). - I must have read the OP's post because I knew what she meant by "the hammer" - isn't that really a gavel though? lol
There are soooo many sellers over there just itching to leave - there's got to be some way of getting them over here - I agree - this site won't prosper until it gets lots more sellers that have stuff people want to buy. I'm trying!- but I can't figure out how to import my listings so I am searching the forum.. I'd appreciate it if somebody can point me in the right direction.
