I have made some book covers and bookmarks in the past, though that is quite a long time ago
I was just wondering if fellow leather workers still suffer from "The painful hands"?
Particularly when hand sewing!!
I never did enough to suffer
But I have to be careful when knitting - doing too much will make my wrists hurt
I've just finished another cartridge bag & I feel like sticking my hands in the freezer!!
Not good. Definitely don't want to go down the road of purchasing a sewing machine - items wouldn't be hand made in my eyes.
I used to do it many moons ago,I remember the painful hands well!
I did have a play around with some wristband ideas a couple of years back but never carried on with them.
I had a quick look at some of your items & the pics weren't that clear.Have you tried scanning them? The two pics above were scanned.
Hi, nice work.
Which items?
All pics are taken using a 10mp Canon so hopefully they're clear, if not I'll have a look & sort.
Dave
Many thanks, that'll be the 90 degree flash effect!!
I tinker a bit with all sorts of craft ideas. I do find that doing beadwork on deer skin is hard on the hands. Of course, at my age it doesn't take much to get the joints aching.
I once built a coffee table and had to cut 12 thru mortises using only hand chisels. I thought I'd never get my fingers to straighten out again.
