i use compatable ink fer epson d92
n reconize its dodgy inks...............i just hit continue or turn printer off fer 5min utes
but as spyda says not all compat inks work
the first lot (i bought in bulk) worked fine Jay..these ones arent..same batch ect..ill try leaving it off..
I use the Epson SX100 printer/ scanner/ copier and while it will accept compatible cartidges initially, the print quality is poor and after a short while the printer refuses to acknowledge them as genuine Epson cartridges and stops working.
The thing that really annoys me about the SX100 is that it gives you the option of printing in black only, or if you are running low it will print black using a combination of the other colours.. Yeah right !! the printer just shuts down.
And even more annoying is that if one colour runs out then again the machine shuts down.
Would I buy another Epson SX100 ?... Not on your life, its the noisiest paper transfer mechanism I've ever heard, it holds only a measly amount of paper, photo print quality is dull and muddy even when using the special coated paper and tweaking all the colour controls.
If it weren't for the expensive cartridges I'd go back to my old Lexmark tomorrow.
No wonder Epson dropped the price of the unit so drastically.. its a pile of junk.
My old Epson was great, when the ink was running low a quick squirt of any old ink into the top of the cartridge and away it went, I could make a cartridge last 12 months before the print head started to show signs of wear.

Buying carefully, selling thoughtfully

I have 2 epson printers(never again) and an old canon 1000 that just keeps going on 99p inks
Reincarnation is just another repeat
still no good...what makes me angry is the fact that if i want to NULL my blerdy warranty by using incompatible ink..i should be allowed to...once i have bought it they should not be able to tell me what to do !
Jean try this it may work....take out the new cartridges and turn off printer....leave it off for 5 mins or so...turn on again and it should ask for the cartridges to be replaced....replace cartridge and then tell us what it says rather than carrying on.
