While that is quite true, I also have a workshop filled with other tools which require maintenance to operate at peak efficiency. I consider a computer just like any other tool requiring maintenance.
Oh! I'd never use my gavel. A nine pound sledge would be more efficient.

Yes, but there's something to be said for being curious (not "Curiosity killed the cat" either). My mother in her 80s is still learning about computers. I recently gave her a digital camera. She says she has managed to take photos but apparently not to email them to me, YET. I gave her brief instructions about viewing her photos in Windows Explorer and I trust that soon her innate nosiness will allow her to find them and attach them to emails. The thrill of the hunt is a factor also for some people.
LOL, good on her. My nan is 75 and useless, she can't even work a remote control to turn her TV over She won't even have a mobile phone.
My pc is also playing up, not sure if it's an ISP problem or not, had enough last night and ordered myself a new one I can't be bothered taking this one apart and reformatting at the moment. I'll do it when I have more time.
