    That's ok when it's "between us" on the forums, but how many potential buyers you don't know would actually contact you to see if you'd knock off some money? I don't think there are many if it's not via a "formal procedure" on the site.

    You could add a note in your "All About the Seller" if you're willing to accept offers on everything you list. If only on selected items, add a note in the description for each one.

    Best Offer makes no sense in an auction since every bid is an offer.

    Haggling (negotiation) could be okay for those willing to engage in it. Problem I've found with it is that people take a rejection of an offer too personal. Some sellers, upon receiving a low offer, take offense instead of playing the game and making a counter offer.

    I have used the 'notice' to tell buyers they can make me an offer, and I have had some from new buyers. so it does work
