Well - Put it this way. Me and Ross walked down to the Indian Takeaway on the estate to get our evening meal, just finished it, now I'm debating whether to watch the Godfather or not.

We've set up a few chairs as make-do beds.

So yes.....Set for the night in the office.

Had a heavy snowfall this morning, then clear skies, then tonight the cloud covered over and its started snowing again. We hardly get snow but this is the first time since the 70's its been this bad/good.

Oh my, looks like an inch or two to me! Pretty but no record. Check out the Washington DC newspapers and see some real pictures of snow!!! Eastern US got anywhere from 24 to 36" of snow in one day! Set records everywhere.

What is the record for UK? I think our area in the midwest gets about 40" total for the winter season, two years ago we got 100"!

It's not the depth of snow here, it's the longevity. Usually it snows for a few hours and then melts away the next day, but last year and this it has remained for several days and more snow has piled up on top of it, really screws up the people with the wrong tyres on who don't know how to drive in slippery conditions! They're usually the ones with big heavy saloon cars too, have an accident and end up blocking the roads for the rest of us.

6" to 8" is a good fall of snow in the uk its rare we get snow day after day but recently this has been the case

i remember the early 80s when we had one winter were the snow was over the top of the telegraph poles lasted for two weeks

scotland is really the place to see prolonged deep snow in the uk
