Thread: Can anybody help????

  1. #1

    Unhappy Can anybody help????

I have sold an item, the buyer has asked me to send to an address (not provided!) other than what they registered here with, when i tried to get their contact details again from the AAL i noticed that since their payment to me (via PayPal) their user name is crossed out, they also had received very negative feedback from another buyer which wasnt there when they won my item, does anybody know what this all means??? Am i about to be duped???

    Hi Julie,

Actually to be covered by PayPal the address that is supposed to be used is the one that is provided to PayPal when a person signs up for an account with them.

If you do not received payment from the buyer you can request to have your fees reversed.

Hi, thanks for your reply...the odd thing is the payment has been completed BUT there is no address because the buyer is unconfirmed (with PayPal) any idea why their user name has a line thru it? poss they have unregistered with ebid?? the other buyer who left neg FB noted they would report to Ebid....

That would be really strange indeed.
I'd give Ebid a holler with all of the details of the transaction and that the buyer has paid as well.

Look under Help, then the tab 'contact'.

I agree with Ruby, you should contact ebid and find out what the scoop is on this buyer. Sometimes the suspension is temporary, others, it might be forever. Hate to jump the gun on a buyer.

Other seller's negatives are worrysome. Most people are not so quick to issue negative unless situation is REALLY bad. If it appears the negative was justified, and buyer is suspended, I would call off sale and return their money. Not worth dealing with trouble.

Default I have a similar situation I think.

I am very confused right now. Can anyone answer this question. I had a bidder buy a computer but I can't find the payment anywhere. If it's a buy it now, don't they have to pay for it right away?

Also when this person purchased there was no line through his name next to the sale but now there is what does that mean?

I also have had no response to 2 invoices and it was a buy it now. What do I do now? I don't want to jump the gun but I really thought payment had to be made on buy it now right away. I can't find payment anywhere. Thanks

Ebid does NOT have a buy it now that requires instant payment like on feebay. And ebid does not require that buyers pay within a certain period of time either, so that person is within the rules/policies of ebid by not paying fast.

But if there is a line thru their name, they have been suspended. It is best to find out why and based on that, determine if you should just cancel the sale. As on feebay, you should not do any business with someone who is not a member (name crossed out). I have had buyers suspended in same way, but come back within a few days. So sale might still be a "go".

Contact your buyer or contact ebid support and find out why buyer was suspended. If it is temporary, everything is fine, just wait and payment will come. If buyer does not appear to be coming back, then cancel the sale and get a refund of your fees, and relist the item.

Since your item sounds expensive, proceed with caution on the sale.

    Smile Thank You

Thanks for the good advise. I actually wrote ebid and the customer right after I posted these questions but no comment yet from anyone. I suppose I don't know why they get suspended and then they come back and everthing is ok? Hopefully that is what he will do and the sale will go. Meanwhile I checked my supply and I still had another I could sell so I put it back up and left the sale alone for now.

It was a computer that I could sell at a fantastic price and didn't want it to just sit in limbo so I got another one posted. I will have even more posted within 2 days.

I'll see what happened and try to find a help page that explains why people get suspended. Thanks again for the great advise.
