I noticed you all pushed things far enough in the 'MSABC Pink Fridays SUPPORT AWARD' to squeeze all you could get out of me ---- BUT NOW I AM THINKING which is a dangerous thing for me to start doing.

If I have the picture right these auctions are for raising money for
furthering breast cancer research and most likely any research there will also help other types of cancer. My mother died from cancer and I have friends and family members with cancer. Also over 30 years ago I was faced with the dreaded words 'you have cancer' I was told they thought they got it all and that if it hadn't returned within 5 years I would probably be safe. Like I said that was over 30 years ago and God has blessed me by it never returning.

Now to my thinking --- There are currently 50 MSABC listings showing but only 18 of them have bids. That leaves 32 that have no bids at all if those each only get 1 bid that would mean a lot more money for the cause. I don't know if it is proper to suggest this or not but if it isn't I am sure I will be told so.
Maybe you don't 'really' want or need the item but wouldn't mind making the small donation of the opening bid but then there is the shipping cost --- why not tell the seller that you don't want the item shipped as you are only trying to contribute to the cause and would they please cancel the shipping price and either relist the item or include it as a 'surprise freebie' in a package when someone has made an order (if it will not increase the shipping to put it in).

Well that idea is where it gets to you and here is where it gets to me ----
If 100% that is everyone of the 50 MSABC listings close with at least one bid then I will increase my 'MSABC Pink Fridays SUPPORT AWARD' match to $15.00 instead of the original $10.00. The listings start closing in 5 hours so hopefully enough people will see this that would love to see me have to chip in another $5.00.

In case this is not the right thing to post I have heard that 'All is fair in love and war' and surely that should be 'All is fair in love, war and eBid Charity Drives'.

Ropegg - do you have MSABC/other charity shops or charity collection centres/centers in the US?

I can't speak for anyone else but I'd certainly be willing to meet the opening bid on some overseas items listed for charity if I knew my bid and the item would then be donated to the charity.

Peggy - All ideas are always welcome when it comes to being creative in fundraising - Its nice that you feel able to contribute to a very worthy cause. I've been bidding on stuff for UK & USA, but keep getting outbid when I'm not at my keyboard. Time to get my green ticks back I think

And in the meantime - I've got pretty little gems that need more bids -

All ending tomorrow evening - so make sure you get your bids in while you can.

Thank you to all who have placed bids so far - make sure your bid is a proxy bid to secure your goodies.

    Hi Matt,

Thank you for asking but I don't know. There probably are collection centers but if so I do not know where they are in connection to where the people live that have the items listed and it may not be practical to get the item to a center.

Though I haven't taken much part for some time now I used to participate in the YDC in the UK and I used to ask them to just relist or put in a package. That was before the US area had anything going for charity to the best of my knowledge. I haven't spent much time in the forums for several months so I am slipping a bit --- well maybe a lot.

Gramma1111 IMed me recently and told me they had MSABC going and was hoping I would join in so that is really about all I know but the money is sent to her when it is collected and I feel extremely sure when she gets it that it DOES go to the charity but I am thinking it would be very hard to see that the items each person list would get to a collection area.

Thanks again and should you join in on this side of the pond it would be appreciated but I can't assure you what would happen to the items. I can see I need to do a little reading of the forums again.

    Hi Babs,

I noticed you were not able to hold on to your bids and I hoped some coming by that normally don't look much might even drop a bid. LOL a key chain grabbed me as I collect them.

it is time for me to leave for church but will be back later.
