Mark, Gazza, eBid administration inform the entire membership of this poll about the Best-Offer option and let see what they think. Let this be an open invitation to all to give there opinions on this matter.

    Invitation to Vote
As an eBid member we would like your opinion on having a Best Offer option here on eBid. There is a poll on the subject in the forum under "Website Suggestions & Glitches" called "Would you like the OPTION of "Best Offer" available on eBid?". Your participation would be appreciated.

I value the opinions of the other 617,023 individuals using eBid. If the membership declares me wrong then I will bow and concede the debate for the option. Now just out of curiousity will the opposition to it say the same?

Oh come there has to be at least one of you that thinks that all them members should have a vote? You do care what they would like right?

    Mark, Gazza, please don't. Thanks.

Members can use the forum, or not, it's their choice, if they don't want to take part in your poll, it is up to them.

I get it, that some people want this, I'm sure the Guys realise this as well, but as you've already been told, eBid is not a democracy, what the Guys choose to implement, & what they don't is entirely up to them, it doesn't matter how often or loud you shout, or how often you bump this thread.

The clue is in the forum title Website SUGGESTIONS & Glitches, it is certainly not Website DEMANDS& Glitches.

Even if they choose to introduce it, it's highly unlikely before the site revamp.

I for one am heartily sick of seeing this thread bumped 4 or 5 times a day, to keep it at the top of the forum, proper discussion yes, not bumping for the sake of it, especially while it's still on the 1st page of the forum.

Just "suggesting" that they might get a better idea whether or not the membership would like to see it. Get a proper consensus. Most really don't frequent the forum & probably don't even know what goes on in here. Honestly up until the changes that feeBay introduced I never when into any forums.

I don't think you need to be concerned about that

As it is, on ebid, all my items are listed at the lowest price I can accept. I know many would go for more if the best-offer feature were in place, then the price would settle somewhere in-between.
Hmm, this sounds strangely familiar, doesn't it? Institute Best Offer as an option and suddenly, the asking prices will go up...

It's clear that weaverkid is going to be tenacious and continue to push his single-issue agenda even though eBid has some bigger obstacles to overcome first. Clearly, the admins are intent on letting him sound off repeatedly in the forum, much to the chagrin of other users who see their postings in other threads pushed under. Isn't it strange how other threads get pulled but debates on haggling never seem to get curtailed? I think the admins are playing a cruel joke by letting this go on and on and on. They probably have no intentions on using the suggestion to implement Best Offer, and they are letting the debate play itself out rather than trying to cork it and risk having it blow up into a bigger issue than it is, even with all the hyperbole and large fonts being posted on this thread. It's possible Gazza and Mark are just sitting back and deriving untold levels of amusement at seeing so much emotion being exchanged on both sides. But what else should be done? Threads that receive replies rise to the top. Older postings in this thread will get buried and forgotten. Are we supposed to ignore the debate and let it become one-sided as it will be eventually, or should we post the same things over and over and over again? I'm prepared to push CTRL+C and CTRL+V to copy my older postings if that's what's needed. Tell me and everyone else listening what should happen if this ongoing debate is getting sickening.

I think threads only get pulled when someone posts something offensive. Although there's been some heated debate here, no one has gone over the top.

Why don't you just ignore it? If the only person posting to the thread is the originator, then people will stop paying attention to it. I think you've posted to this thread at least as often as the OP. You're doing your part to keep it at the top when you do that.

True, but first, I'd really like to hear from other forum users who have been privy to weaverkid's past and present postings, including his previous poll on the same topic, whether they think this poll has any merit and whether they believe Mark and Gazza have any intention whatsoever of entertaining the suggestions being made vis-a-vis Best Offer. I really don't believe the admins are taking any of this seriously! What do the rest of y'all think?

I think Mark and Gazza read all the threads, especially the ones that are requesting changes. They have a lot of things going on right now, and I suspect this is a low-priority item even if they are considering it.

Until then . . . those of us who would use it will just have to get along without it.
