Default Isn't it funny how people moan but do nothing to change things?

I was chatting to a friend about this last night and it's something that has kind of annoyed us both for years... and that is the way so many people bitch and moan about things but then never do ANYTHING to change or help try and change things. They just seem to accept things and continue moaning.

A perfect example is with Greedbay, if you read the forums or talk to friends, etc it seems everyone is sick and tired of Greedbay and their fees and treatment of their customers/members. Yet people continue to stick with the site.
If users decided to boycott the site on mass and go somewhere else, stop buying and selling on the site, then Greedbay would change their policies and fees overnight.

The same applies in every day life, etc I no longer drink but I am always hearing friends and family moan about high prices for drinks and entry into clubs, etc. If they gave them a miss for a few weeks then clubs and bars would cut their prices in an instant, I've seen it happen before with pubs I used to work in years ago. If customers leave on mass then they change their prices.
Yet it seems people (Especially nowadays) just cannot go a few weeks without having a drink. And it seems the same with Greedbay, people just cannot go a few weeks without buying or selling on their site (Except for you good people here of course ).

I just think you need to do something sometimes to change things and stop whinging about things you don't like. If everyone acted together then these bigger companies that think they can get away with anything they like would HAVE to change their ways or lose all their customers. Unfortunately I don't think the majority of people think like this.

I feel much the same about folks who constantly complain about politics, politicians and the political system. Most of those who say that the system is wrong, the system doesn't work, the system is corrupt, still trot along to the polling booth every election time. Thus supporting and maintaining that very system.

So, er... are you guys just going to post here and complain about these things, or do you have a plan in mind? I'm just asking, you understand?

    LOL
Well I no longer drink or pay high club prices (The latter out of principle more than anything), If I don't agree with the way a company or service has treated me I complain and don't just accept it, I take my local council to task on things I think they are ripping off the public with (i.e. At the moment it's residents parking in my area), I have left Greedbay and also written to them about their treatment of their past loyal customers (Not that I think for one second I'll get a reply or it will do any good). Unfortunately you need a hell of a lot more people to do the same and not just accept things all the time.
I think saying and doing is totally different though and it seems to me most people seem quite happy with moaning and not doing lol.

I do the only thing I can do to register my displeasure at the system. I don't vote.

Aha... but you see, what you're complaining about here is people not doing their bit. So the question isn't what are you going to do about pub prices or politicians, but what are you going to do to encourage people to stop moaning and take action?

And in case it doesn't show, as I suspect is the case, that's a very light-hearted question - but I do find it an interesting one, so if anybody has an answer...

I think it's probably one of those irregular verbs

    I point out facts
    You complain
    He's a whiner

We're British. What else do you expect. Why do you think that the government and banks etc keep ripping us off.......Because they know they CAN. If we'd have done half of what some MPs and bankers have done....we would have got at least 5 years.

What Nationality do you think the people you identify as villains are?

That's how they can do the things they do...they guess that the British won't act on their complaints because the villains are behaving in a way that they think will get the right result for themselves.

It matters not what nationality the villains are...if they are hoping the British won't complain directly...then they will often be right.

I have no idea if what I said just now makes any sense to anyone else but it made sense in my head.
