Thread: A & E - Brits abroad

  1. #1

    Default A & E - Brits abroad

Was watching this on telly 2 nights back.

Was a little girl ill in hospital in Spain, and her mum wanted to return home to UK immediately.

The little girl said to her mom - ok, but can we go the beach when we get home?

    Mums answer.....

We dont have beaches in England - we have seasides!!!!

    Am I missing something here?

when i think of a beach i think of, sun sea and glorious sand

when i think of the seaside i think of amusements, games, kiss me quick hats and candy floss

around here the sea is rotten and sand, well wots that

Bournmouth beach is nice when it's hot Boscombe as well, but I must agree I think of being abroad when beach is mentioned.

I suppose it is down to one's location.

Eg I live miles away from the coast, so I would go to the seaside for the day.
But if I lived on the coast, in Bournemouth or Torquay for example, I would go to the beach for the day.

My youngest brother lives in Southbourne near Bournemouth they are always at one beach or another, Mudeford is a nice little beach down that way.

If you lived in Torquay you would be carefull what beach you went to the main one is packed in the Summer and the tucked away ones the grockles (Holiday makers) dont know about are stoney!
