My biggest objection. Not only do my batteries run out at the worst possible time, it costs a fortune to replace them. I own about six flashlights so I can be sure to have at least one that works in an emergency. Can't imagine how awful it would be if all my books were on a computer, and the battery died! Not to mention . . . computers crash and sometimes they freeze for no particular reason. And I'd have to carry the computer everywhere I went. There's no doubt I'd forget it once in a while

I keep one book in my car, one in my purse, one in my bicycle basket, one in the living room (yep, multiple book reader). The books wait patiently and they're always ready for me.

Or the smell of a new book either.

I still have most of the books given to me in my childhood by my grandfather, Wind in the Willows, Peter Pan, Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Fin, are old friends that I'll never part with.

Then there are the beautifully bound books I collected back in the 70's that adorn my bookshelves.

    An ebook cannot replace them.

I'm sure it's ok to use if you read only the latest bestseller, then get rid of it, but many of the books I buy are "keepers".

As for "the next generation" my nieces & nephews range in age from 20 to 30, they all not only read but collect books. When my gt niece who is only 4 stayed earlier in the year, she was delighted with the pile of books I'd got for her, (although she already owns many herself) & was getting her aunt to read them with her.

    That could be useful.
I usually just hide them between the pages of old books.
    ( I wish)

Haven't had a love letter since the 70's.

its kinda sad that that side slips as the relationship progresses, I get post it notes on the screen of my laptop somedays when OH goes out before I get in which is mushy according to the kids but I think it is sweet
