The next generation does not think like we do. It's the age of technology and gadgets. I know people who swore they would never own a computer. Even my mother. No need for it they said. Now they say they would be lost without one. We live in a changing world I'm afraid. I've enjoyed many a book myself but I can see the appeal of the new e-books. It would be interesting to see what is going on in another hundred years.

It will be interesting~ but I still want to buy books.

Collect books, read books and handle them.

    So do my kids.

Gizmos come and go, so we'll have to wait and see.

I have a Sony Reader. It's about the size of a standard slim paperback book, very easy to use and read (you can adjust the type size too) and holds a charge for ages.

I love holding a book, collecting books, finding special editions of books. I love bindings and illustrations and even other peoples notes in books.

But I also love reading. And some books - those that I would pick up here for under £1.00 or at a charity shop, reading copies in other words - are perfect for ebook readers. It's not that bad. If they ever start making newer titles available at a reasonable price, I may join the 'next generation'.

I have a computer but I read every day...often have several books on the go at once. I also read books when I am taking a break from the pc. I have also been known to order titles that I have tried to read as an e:book but have given up on it.

I don't see e:book readers replacing books...just that people will read both kinds of books.

What age constitutes the next generation?

I shall never partake of the supposed joys of reading an electronic copy of a book. There is no substitute for holding a book and scanning the inked letters on paper. To say nothing of the delightful smell of an old book! Sorry, but I don't envy the e-generation one bit.

How do you make little notes in the margins?

    I'm forever doing that.

    In pencil of course~

Or dog earing a page to check back on something later?
