Obviously not the sharps, but what age should kids start to do the washing up?

mine started as soon as they could reach the sink ! prior to that they would sweep the floor /put out the rubbish..
LOL...I really think that depends on the kids and the parents. My granddaughter (age 2) stands at the sink and "helps" nanna. It seems when my babies were 7 & 8 and I was working they did the evening set. It seems like they "helped" before that, mainly because bubbles are fun. Definitely before the teenage years set in.
I have new listings! Check them out!
Everything I say can be fully substantiated by my own opinion.Fed up with paying to sell?
Mine started as soon as they could reach the sink, especially when they came to me and asked "can I help?" They thought it was fun then, but now, not so much. It became an actual chore. If they want to help...take advantage of it.
I agree with that.
Children develop differently, LOL! No two are the same.![]()
I think you have to judge for yourself at what age to try doing things with them like that. I would certainly try with some plastic stuff first. And as Gibsonscamp says, bubbles are fun.
LOL! Enjoy while you can, they don't want to do it when they become teenagers, Sometimes just getting them to get out of bed is a chore to them at that age.
Err, can I just rephrase that before someone jumps on me.
Not all teenagers....................... just the majority.![]()

Yes let them join in as soon as they can reach to sink, just have to be prepared for the extra job of clearing up excess bubbles and water off the floor if you blink or turn your back for a moment though.
Same goes for painting the walls, my little uns helped do their bedroom walls as soon as they could hold the brush, they loved it and never scribbled on the walls they painted!
Mine helps with the washing up, the ironing, painting, hoovering, cleaning bathrooms, hanging out the washing, dusting, shopping, polishing. She loves it!! Honestly, she’s in her element when she’s helping someone with the housework… her bedroom on the other hand is a nightmare!
She’s 10 and we’ve always let her help if she’s asked, you can usually work out a way they can help if you give it some thought.
Blessings
