Looks like a good demonstration of how a hot air balloon works. Somewhat of a fire hazard I would imagine, if they didn't take care when it landed.
I believe the Japanese used something similar to attack the US mainland during WWII. I believe some school girls and their teach were killed by one making them the only civilian casualties of the war in mainland USA.
