I appreciate all the replies, thank you.

The reason why I mentioned our activity on Ebay is to let Ebid representatives know that we're a serious company that have been involved in online markets for a decade now and not new to the business.

Are these forums the primary method of communicating with the administration?

    Best regards,
    AIK Corp

No, the forums are very much "..by the people for the people..".

If you've got a proposition for the top brass you're best off sending it to:

We don't care what they do at that other site.
Please don't use the editorial "We".

OP, members are free to make suggestions and requests. That's why there's a forum for them. Some requests have been implemented that do not exist on other auction sites. That does not mean that features provided elsewhere will never be implemented here. I think it happens when there is sufficient interest to make the programming changes worthwhile. This site is VERY responsive to members' problems and requests.

Whilst I can see the reason to C&P from the other side to here with your listings, it may serve you well to double check the listings as you refer to the buyer being reported to the other side if they do not pay, when in fact all that is needed is a word change or two to say eBid.

Just trying to offer a bit of advice an no more.

I like that members can make suggestions and requests. That's one of the primary functions of the forums. However, I tend to look at any suggestion as rubbish when it is accompanied by a statement to the effect that because fleeBay has something, it must be good and should be implemented here. That kind of logic doesn't fly at least with me. We should be able to debate the merits of an idea or suggestion without pointing to fleeBay as the yardstick by which everything is measured. There can be no absolute consensus on whether something that exists on fleeBay is successful or not. For example, some sellers say Best Offer improved sales on fleeBay; others will say Best Offer made sales worse. Each seller's experience is unique, and hence results will vary. So fleeBay should be removed as the focus of the discussion. Invoking fleeBay as the reason for doing something is nothing more than a feeble attempt to "keep up with the Joneses". It drags us down.

Very well put, and I totally agree with that.

If OP is a business seller and OP has business overheads to cover before making a profit, then OPs focus is clearly going to be the maximization of sales. If a best offer option has worked well for OP in the past, then OP is entitled to enquire whether the option is available here. Nowhere has OP suggested trying to make eBid like eBay. I do not know what some of the people responding in this thread are basing the ‘we’ upon in respect of views about eBay. If there are some good features on eBay or other similar sites which would help sales on eBid then their implementation on eBid should be considered where possible. People on eBid who have their own personal issues with eBay cannot claim to speak for the eBid membership.

OP, welcome to eBid. It will be good for eBid to have commercial business operations like yourself on this site.

All the responses are fully appreciated, thank you.

It appears that my mentioning of eBay has aroused strong emotions - that was not my intention, I'm merely a representative of a business that has chosen to expand to eBid and have no hidden agenda.

raindropsies2, a separate thanks for your advice, I intend to correct it ASAP.

    Best regards,
    AIK Corp

P.S. How many buyers/sellers are there on daily basis on eBid?
