I remember when money actually bought something. Now you need a wheel barrow of it. Think it's called inflation?![]()

THANK YOU FOR THAT! I'd seen those terms and never was sure what their values were. Now could I ask you to list the current UK money? In exchange I will list US money.
1 cent or penny with Abraham Lincoln
5 cents = 1 nickel with Thomas Jefferson but there are a variety of them out now, some reminiscent of the old buffalo nickels
10 cents = 1 dime = 2 nickels. The current dimes have FDR, Franklin Roosevelt.
25 cents = a quarter (quarter dollar) with George Washington. Sometimes called two bits.
50 cent pieces are still in existence but somewhat uncommon. Sometimes called four bits. I believe the newer (yet old) ones are with John F. Kennedy.
1 dollar coins are quite unusual these days. We have had Sacajawea gold-colored dollars and Susan B. Anthony dollars in the last few decades but they are rather uncommon to run across. The bigger silver ones were Dwight Eisenhower, I think.
We have 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 dollar bills. There are larger denominations than 100 in circulation but I have never had my mitts on any of them.
$1 has George Washington, $2 has Thomas Jefferson (these are somewhat rare), $5 has Abraham Lincoln, $10 has Alexander Hamilton (never a US President), $20 has Andrew Jackson, $50 has Ulysses Grant and $100 has Benjamin Franklin (never a President). Currently all paper money is mostly green.
My statements above are of course subject to correction!
Ada, I've got a one dime silver coin, question is is the opposite side to the head supposed to be upside down?
Don't walk in front of me..I may not follow-don't walk behind me..I may not lead-just walk beside me and be my friend.

How much is a "hens weight"? Depends on the size of the chicken?
Yep I remember the 3d coin, think it was the nicest coins we have had, really chunky. You used to be able to buy a mars bar for 3d when I was little but then inflation hit and they went up to 6d which equals two and a half pence in todays money. Extortionate, that was most of your pocket money gone !![]()
