    Default Does anyone remember

the old 3p piece from 1963, Oldies probably would. These coins had 15 sides and had the percullis and chains

yes I remember them - along with the silver 3d coin, 6d coin, the old brass penny and ha'penny, shilling, 2 shilling, crown, and then it was notes for the 10 shilling, and pounds. I've got some here in the house. They were around before 1963 though, and ceased to be valid currency when decimal coinage came in - although there was a changeover period where both forms of coinage were accepted.

Oh I forgot the farthing which was about the same size as the current 1p coin. The farthing was done away with during the 1960's I believe - and the reason? because the coin size was too small.
