My Mother, dad died when I was 10 and I was the eldest of 4 Children, she brought us all up on her own with no help from the state whatever, and she was proud of all of us as we were of her until she passed away in 2005 at the age of 95

There might be some truth in that generalisation

I have had all sorts of abusive mail etc recently...all from women

The guys tend not to use generalisations but provide positive criticism rather than spiteful remarks.

I have always had more time for guys

See anything unusual about list? Only one woman made it, someone's mom! In the 1950s and 1960s women had fewer women role models in sports, or politics. In school we never learned about women aviators or explorers or polititians. I did not know there were any until I was an adult!

Lets test the theory and see if our younger female members can think of female heroes!

Me mum, cos she brought five of us up on her own for a lot of our childhood, and me step-dad for taking us all on and doing his best.

Also, Elvis, John Wayne, and Muhammad Ali.

err?...I don't mean me mum and step-dad brought up Elvis, John Wayne, and Muhammad Ali as well, I meant they're my heroes as well.

Mine was my dad, he was my hero, sadly became a missing person when I was 12 years old, he went to work and never came home, never been seen or heard of since, I think about him every day but I should imagine he has died of old age by now.
