Ebay are doing it as well, ive had a chase up mail from e/bay to leave feedback for a seller that messed me about, doesant deserve a neg but also doesnt warrant any praise.

We've added a note similar to this to the bottom of our packing slip template. I'd rather not send a separate email (which they might view as more spam). This way we can apologize in advance, tell them we appreciate feedback but it certainly is not required, and tell them how to opt out, if they choose, before eBid sends the notice. We get feedback from about two-thirds of our buyers. While we'd like more (of course) I would rather retain a potential buyer than get feedback.

Should that not be the other way around?

I thought the ticked ones were the ones you wanted, well thats how it works for the rest of them, I just wonder if wording has changed and admin's opted everyone out rather than in (back in a tick)

Sounds to me if they were that petty they weren't planning to stay anyway.

There are a heck of a lot of places that one can buy things. Small things can be deeply irritating, and it doesn't take much to make one move on. That's not "petty" in my book, it's just human. A few small things added together can take on a weight that just means people go elsewhere. It's a fiercely competitive retail world out there - to beat the competition and become first choice one has to get as much as possible right. Dismissing anything that works to our disadvantage as "petty" doesn't appeal to me. The devil's in the detail, remember.

There were a couple of other things that irritated him, in fact, but anyway, I don't care about the character of my buyers just so long as they

    a)buy my stuff
    b)pay for it
    c)are happy with it
and.. and this was true of this ex-ebidder
d)come back and buy some more

    Lol - yup.

I just went and removed them again.

I assumed, because I had received a reminder, that I should have them ticked. I knew they werent ticked before.

Now that I have received a reminder, I guess it isnt gonna make much difference if they ticked or not now
