And finally , you can be arrested for possessing an offensive weapon if you are carrying , a nail file , a sharpened pencil ( if using it threateningly ) in fact there was a case of a person being charged with assault using a hosepipe where is this going to end , every household in the uk -even the world has a knife in the kitchen or household.
In fact the responsibility for these items are the sellers not the site .
God I'm sick of PC politics and nanny states.

After reviewing the effectiveness of our keyword alert system for dangerous knives and bladed weapons it has been decided that this will be a never ending cat and mouse game with the sellers of these items. The sale of all knives, swords and machetes is now not permitted on eBid."

they are still allowed on ebay !
thats good then, your knifes were kitchen knifes so they may be allowed but don't quote me on that best advice i would do is ask admin about it and include the pic aswell and state that they are kitchen knifes. you can either contact them via their contact us page or via support@ebid.net

    My question to admin was

    Subject
    Knife Ban?

    Question
is it a total ban on knives or is there any exceptions?

    Raindropsies2

    Answer

    Hi,

There is a total ban. Any knives reported will be removed.
We are aware that some customers still have multiple listings and
we have contacted them to advise removal.

Although I was the one to point the rule out, I did not report the auction as I felt there was no need, as I would have thought that you would have self removed it once aware of the rule.

BTW I was not blaming any one who posted on this thread just having a good moan about the hypocrisy of the so called ban ;- some auctions pulled others left to run

I understand your reasons, I too have had a similar experiance (which is still partly on-going) and that relates to novelty bank notes, I got a short ban and all auctions removed at the time (even the ones that were not novelty notes), yet there are still others being sold on here despite them being reported, hence why I have given up reporting them, if eBid want to get into trouble with the BOE then fine let them, after all the reasons they gave me for novelty notes related to what they had been told by the BOE.

Thanks everybody for your replies but it would seem that I am not wanted here by the management and as the bulk of my stock is cooks knives I see no point in wasting my time .( or do I have to join the masons ???)

Sarah, it seems that there are 4 items available under novelty bank notes but they are key rings

    http://uk.nine.ebid.net/perl/main.cg...&go.x=0&go.y=0

Now I'm sure you'll agree with me that these items should be listed keyrings and not novelty bank notes
