Thread: Custom start - I think it has gone a bit mad?

    Default Custom start - I think it has gone a bit mad?

    I have been listing a lot of things today. This auction is an example of my frustation and a puzzle I hope you can answer. http://uk.nine.ebid.net/perl/auction.cgi/16643784 + +

    I set the Custom 'start auction' date for next Saturday, around 9pm.

    Then I set 'Close auction after ... days " to 7 days

    Fill in all I need to, Preview and Submit etc.

    Later when I look at the titles etc in my shop I see that a whole lot have crazy 'auction running until' times - like 46 days 12 hours and 13 minutes etc.

    I can't see if I am doing something wrong - help please.

    Perhaps they will revert to the correct countdown when they actually start

    That auction is certainly showing that it will finish on JULY 21st!

    I'd contact admin.

    Thanks. I did send support a messge, but no reply, not even an acknowledgement and support ticket number. I have sent another message today.

    I know it says that they won't reply if the answer is already somewhere in the forum, but when I put 'custom start' into the search I get so many threads it would take me a week to read through them all.

    I see I have 19 auctions doing this now - yesterday there were many more and with tiles like 54 and 89 days! so it has changed again overnight!

    I am feeling rather desperate as I don't know whether to spend time correcting this or if I am wasting my time as it will happen again?

    Any suggestions other than a large box of Kleenex?

    You should always get a ticket number, even if they ignore you after that! If you haven't seen an instant, automatic reply, it suggests to me that either your mail didn't go for some reason, or your replies from ebid are getting spam-trapped. What method of contact did you use, form or email? And if the latter, what address did you send to?

    I used this the other day aswell and I didn’t get a Support Ticket either!

    Maybe there’s a glitch?

    My standard response if I think one way of doing something's having hiccoughs is to try the other one! Try emailing support@ebid.tv direct - so far (touch wood) that one's always worked for me.

    Many thanks for the tip. I have done as you suggest and - hey presto - I got a ticket by return. I'll wait for an answer and update you when I find out what the problem is.

    I had problems with the custom start too when listing my YDC auctions - I set it all correctly according to YDC rules but when submitted the auction appeared and stated it had started in 1970 and as glitch was not sorted out in time I had to delete the auction, sadly.
