Thread: Want to make sure I have shipping discounts right

  1. #1

Default Want to make sure I have shipping discounts right

Can someone tell me if I am on the right track with this, please? W/o being able to get into the invoice unless someone pays I can't do it first hand, so it's kind of muddled.

When someone buys an item, and the second one is free s/h, I can adjust the invoice by that amount? Just have $x per item, and deduct $x from the additional items?

Also, what if the pay before getting the invoice?

    Thanks!

I am not sure about your first question, but I am sure you would be able to adjust the invoice.

If they pay you before you send an invoice and its through paypoo, then you can go into your paypoo account and do a partial refund. Just go into the transaction, at the bottom of the page it has a refund button. It won't refund the whole lot, it will ask you to input the refund amount.

Yes we can refund the whole lot. When it happens to me, I always give the full refund (and I get my full transaction fee back) and then send an adjusted invoice with a short explanation in the notes area. Why? because each transaction costs a % plus .30 cents - So remember the xtra .30cents EACH transaction however small.

So, we can refund either a partial or full ammt of S/H on paypal (and non-paypal, I assume). Paypal will give one the full transaction fee - he % + .30 - back if that is done?

I'm not talking about just the shipping costs. I'm talking about the entire amount the buyer has paid. Whatever you refund you get the equivalent percentage back, so if it's a full refund then you get all your transaction fee back including the .30 cents. Google checkout do the same. I don't know about other online payment facilities as I don't use them.

ok, that makes sense. Otherwise Peepal would be losing A LOT of $ : )

Good idea, if the paid amount is off and other items have to be added anyway, it is a good idea to just refund money and redo invoice. Otherwise it is a bit confusing. Never thought about PP refunding all fees, good tip, I usually make adjustment on second invoice.

Just remember that any other extra payments, adjustments etc made through peepal or Google checkout will cost you the .30 cents each time, plus the %

So, if I discount shipping from paypal, google, etc.. it costs extra money? Can't I do that from Ebid though, on the invoice?

    No.
Do your shipping discount on your eBid invoice either by % or $ option. Remember to add all the items purchased on the invoice as well.
