Thread: to Store or not to Store...?

  1. #1

Default to Store or not to Store...?

Is there any advantage in opening a store as opposed to not having a store?
In my case the most items that I will have at this stage is fifteen to twenty at most. all in the electronics category. So in the words of the Bard "To Store or not to Store, that is the question" any advice is most welcome

For me, the store is the option to take - I have numerous listings many of which I want grouped together so the store option fits - also stock control, as i also sell elsewhere so if something goes out of stock it's very easy just to click on the store, find the product I'm looking for and close the listing.

If you have paid for Seller+ lifetime then open a store - open several... list everything you can.

Reasons? 1. People who find one of your listings will probably check to see what else is in your store

    2. So often when a potential buyer searches on eBid there is nothing to be found. Every fresh item listed means more people find what they want.

If your items are high value I would suggest a store is a good idea, more publicity and as madeleine said, it encourages potential buyers to check your other offerings.

I do like the having a shop.
As a matter of fact, a lifetime membership will allow you up to 5 shops.

One shop with your electronics and you can set another shop to reduce household items and such.

I hope you all are not getting sick of the constant questions. I have yet another question. is it possible to make your store a front page listing so that it shown on Google Shopping I know that items listed as front page get on to Google In my case that is a very desirable feature because my items are high value and appeal to less than the average buyer. I need as much exposure as possible for my wares to sell.

Also the portion at the bottom of some of the posts have a logo and links to their various stores. Is that a function of having a store?

Regarding the picture in the listing, I think anyone can do it - when listing a product on the second line of symbols, the first symbol in the fourth box is the one you need to add a picture - I use a website called postimages.org to give each of my pictures a web address which I then post into that box and the picture appears as if by magic! (I'm old and easily pleased by these things... )

All listings over £1 with a buy it now price and completed barcode and brand filed appear on Google shopping - one of the joys of eBid.
