    Default Carpe diem!!

Now would be the time for ebid advertise, from what i understand ebay has introduced another fee structure and from the notices on the discussion boards,a few sellers will be worse off http://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Busin...1710948/page/3

ebid seriously need to advertise in order to bring in new sellers and desperately needed buyers, this site would easily attract new users if only more people knew about it. its time for ebids owners to get off their backsides and invest in advertising to bring people in

If you've been in business for 10+ years and have nothing to show for it except for the sellers who have brought lifetime memberships, then you've failed!!

They have a site that is still here where others have fallen by the wayside, a site that has stayed true to it's principles and has not raised fees to extortionate levels or sold out to big investors who have demanded an ever increasing return, and a site that is growing, maybe not the explosive growth some people, myself included would like to see. But I will settle for lower growth and all the good things staying in place, so long as I see some growth.

advertising the site does not equal a loss in principles, it increases awareness in the site and now would be the right time to run some sot of campaign, as the small time sellers on ebay may be looking for a cheaper alternative.......and here it is ,but they are not aware of it!!

here are a few suggestions that would increase awareness:

a targeted facebook campaign( targeted ads work better than general ads) linked to the ebid facebook page which could run for September - November(which coincides with the new ebay fee change & would include the Christmas sellers/buyers.)

    ebid youtube channel,

increase twitter activity, ebid users could hold a twitter party for say an hour on a specified time, so that would hopefully get ebid trending and increase awareness.

google+ page with links to here

also a tumblr page which is free

also consider advertising on specialised sites such as, mumsnet and net mums as there a quite a few who sell on ebay

This sounds much like what they are already doing.

It would be great if Ebid were to fork out for a large scale promotion of their site....but this sort of thing would cost a ridiculous amount of money that the site simply doesn't have.
We can't enjoy low fees and see a massive advertising campaign. As Kreative points out Ebid have stayed true to their original principles and with this we can be sure that the site remains the none draconian and none interfering entity that it is.

Every time Ebay introduce a new higher fee structure or another set of harsh terms and conditions then this in itself serves as promotional aid to Ebid....as well as the other less successful alternative sites, this usually "encourages" the disgruntled to search for other selling platforms to sell with, and Ebid is generally the only (after Amazon) worthwhile place to look at.
The greater the number of small niche Ebay sellers who find it hard or next to impossible to trade on that site the more buyers and sellers there will be looking to give Ebid a go.
In fact i think that Ebay is ....and is going to be the main force behind bringing more new users to Ebid as a result of their changing future outlook and this will dwarf all of Ebids attempts to promote itself.
In addition we have a good tool to use and this is Google search....all that is needed is for each Ebid seller to create listings that bend to the needs of this search engine and this will highlight and promote Ebids presence to a greater degree than any realistic marketing budget that could be put together.

Ebid does not need to do a large campiagn that costs thousands, but need to do more than what is been done at present.
