    Well I can appreciate that!

It's the sort of comment that puts me off sharing my techniques.

    Jimbo
You do a smashing job advertising Ebid and helping others, your web pages etc are amazing(I wish I had an ounce of your knowledge ............to show you what I mean I can not even work out where to put my buddylink on the work you posted below

If any one wants wants to use this code or mod it feel free, just switch to html and pop it on the end of your description just remember to change the "BUDDY LINK" in the code to your own and start earning more points from your listings.

    Code:

    <!--Start buddy code by Jimbo--><br><br><div class="boxit-only t40 b10 clear auction-description"><b>Need to Register?</b></div><div> <b class="green"> Haven't registered yet? </b> <span style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-size: small;font-family: Arial;"> If you like this item and would like to buy or place a bid you need to take a few seconds and <a href="http://BUDDY-LINK-1-HERE">Join</a> eBid. <br><br>Go to the <a href="http://BUDDY-LINK-2-HERE">Register</a> page to set up your free eBid account today!</span><br><br><br><br></div><!--End buddy code-->

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you could highlight where I actually have to put it would help an old man out
    My feedback of
    4,809
is 100% positive and has all been earnt here on Ebid

Should that read "Start Buddy Code By Burgyeb"

Is a HTML code needed for my own auction descriptions? Not HTML literate. [ok, think i found it]

Is this the spot(s) for my "Buddy Point Link"?

You should put it as high up the listing as possible. The best arrangement is picture, then description followed by link. After that comes everything else.

Mine are like this - see the first green panel - http://uk.ebid.net/for-sale/vintage-...n-69490949.htm

My ver uses the ebid layout green banner header, and some generic text, my theory the reason users don't like clicking on links in listing is they are not sure about the safety of them, this way it makes them more comfortable with the link.

I have pre filled it out for you guys with your buddy links, Now this is completely new and experimental, so not sure how well it will work but if my theory is correct it should work well. it's worth a go
Oh, OK, different theory. MIne is based on the very limited time people spend on a page before they back out or click onwards, Lower down the page is less likely to be seen.

I have been tempted to put the link below the photo and above item description.

Interestingly I had thought of adding the word 'safe' to the 'quick, easy free' part of the text but I was worried that any changes might make it work less well. Although I've dropped off the leader table for ages now I'm still getting a trickle of buddy points from new listings that do have working links so it still works as is.

Thank you Jimbo. Can the code be bulk edited into existing auctions, or added via default section?
