System slow?

The system seems a tad lethargic today. Placed a bid on an item and it took about 10 minutes to register. It gave all the appearance that no bid had been placed. I resisted the temptation (which many may have not) to try again. Eventually everything slotted into place - but it was rather disconcerting.

I was wondering could that be the cause why my bookstore say I do not have any auctions listed when I do. ty
