Oh wow!
Sure am glad I read this thread.
I suffer terribly from bites - I don't know why the biting and stinging critters love me so much, but I am always targeted.
I mainly get them on my legs, see pic.... (this happened first night of my holiday in Spain - I had 7 bites on one leg, 4 on the other leg and I could hardly walk for a couple of days).


I react badly, maybe because I have had so many in the past - and all my leg swells up, goes red and purple, almost as if I have blood poisoning.
I have tried all the anti-mozzie sprays/creams (inc. the Avon spray) yet they still get me.
Deffo going to try the Listerine!

Good for you, Trish and Meebo, here's hoping it works for both of you as well as it has for me.

I'm a big mosquito target, too, think maybe it has something to do with the fact that my veins are visible through my skin, no work at all for the lazy critters.

One of the most effective things that I've found to deal with the bites after they happen is to apply apple cider vinegar. It seems to cut the itch and help with the healing the best. Trish, those are horrible looking welts. I've had some like that in my day, but lately not as bad. They sure do itch like the devil and then take forever to heal.

I always heard those mosquitos are sweet on certain people (probs sweet people). They always loved my daughter, but stay away from me, even if we are in the same location. I must be made of pickle juice or something. I don't like them either, so it is a mutual non-attraction. :-)

bees flying around (don't know what they've been eating lately) and flying ants Yuck!!

LOL! My Mom never gets bitten either, but my Dad and I, (both very light/thin skinned) are major targets. I think maybe all those veins are just too much temptation.

FirstGreenIsGold, hope the Listerine works for you, it's been two years now and no mosquito bites whatsoever. Now if only someone would invent a cheap, non-chemical way to get rid of those big nasty field cockroaches that congregate on my stoop, I'd be all set.

I just use water on my face. and then I use a tea tree face astringent on my face once a day before retiring!
