Afraid I've only been to Thailand once while on R&R in 1969. It's probably changed a bit since then.

I did sponsor a Thai woman for US citizenship back in 1978. Afraid I lost contact after she got married and moved to the west coast.

I think some of the anti-Asian sentiment comes from the market being somewhat loaded with Chinese goods. This isn't the fault of the Chinese workers, but the low labor costs have enticed many US businesses to import their goods from there. Incidents of products from there containing high lead levels hasn't improved the image of Chinese goods to most Americans.

Oh! In regard to the naming of America it actually got its name from one America Vespucci, if memory serves. He was a map maker, I believe. By the way, America is actually part of the names of the three geographical regions of North, South and Central America. The United States of America is the name of our country which is located on the North American continent. I'm really not sure how we citizens of that country ended up being known as Americans when ours is but one country on the North American continent.

You may be interested to know that Christopher Columbus isn't held in very high esteem by many of the "Native American" people I know. Of course, I can see how they might not see it as a great accomplishment to discover a world that their ancestors already populated.

I'm afraid I also can't say too much about NAZIS as I'm probably biased against them from my father's experiences in WWII.

Personaly i hope this site does not get flooded with the same Chinese rubbish that chokes Ebay. Yes i have bought from China and yes it proved to be dangerous and badly made.
Maybe i was unlucky but i doubt it.
    Cheap rubbish and fakes galore.

I have nothing against the Chinese but i dont want to see gazzilions of cheap and badly made items flooding the place, theres enough here already lol

    Music.
Plato says when the music of a society changes, the whole society will
    change.
Aristotle, a contemporary of Plato's, says when music changes there should be laws to govern the nature and the character of that music.
Lenin says that the best and the quickest way to undermine any society is through its music!

Ile forget it, too much choice and im stuck in the middle so ile buy elsewhere."

For me, and if for me then also for millions of potential buyers this is just to confusing and needlessly so.
If Ebid did what most want from Ebay , which is a seperate Auction site and seperate BIN site then im sure both parties would sell a lot more stuff.
Why have BIN on Auction? Crazy if you ask me, its just messy and confusing for the buyer and a real confusion when listing..

Why is Ebid NOT doing more to make the site more of a competitor to Ebay, Becouse that is where the money is, For sure.

Having said the above, i went looking around and i think im beginning to understand this site a bit better.

There is real potential here so ile stick around and see what happens

All I want to say on this.... Store/s should be just that.. store/s and NOT be listed as running auctions.
    1- Auctions
    2- Stores
that is how it should be.

I totally agree. A store should be a store, but there is nothing to stop a potential buyer from haggling if they don't like the BIN price and make an offer. The seller can only say yes or no.
I see eBid as a marketplace rather than an auction site, and too many are comparing it to e**y rather than starting something new.

So what happens to Auctions that are in Stores?

While my items are in my store, be they Buy Now, Bid, or have both options, I have the oportunity to promote them via my store url, which is relatively easy for people to remember, taking all auctions out of stores, & I presume you mean the option of having both a BuyNow & a bid price on items, would remove any auctions from google products & the extra exposure that brings.

If you don't like or want stores yourselves, don't use them, but the last thing I want is eBid to start hiding listings because of the format they are in. That is one step too far in the direction feebay took.

I think you're right Goth, such a suggestion ignores the main mechanisms by which new buyers arrive at eBid. Most sellers understand those mechanisms? It's BIN that may eventually generate the traffic that will make auctions viable not the other way around. You can't out-auction feebay but they certainly can be out-BINed. It's possible to list, and sell, stuff on eBid (via BIN) that it would be folly to list on feebay.

Huh.... An auction is just that, an auction. Auctions should Not be shown in Store/s.

Most of my items have both options, it's called giving both buyer & seller choice, why would, or should eBid restrict choice?

If I was forced to choose as a seller, I'd probably stop the auction option on my items.
If I was forced to choose as a buyer (who is also a seller who had had my options restricted), I'm cussed enough that I would be unlikely to ever bid on anything listed in the auction format.

At the moment I list solely on eBid because I love the ethos, starting to restrict my choices, could make me rethink this.

    Default What restrictions?

An auction is an auction, period.
A store offering is a store offering, period.
Being that currently 12/31/09 eBid is not set up as a proper store site(instant checkout etc.)
    What is the confusion.
A store seller should be glad that their store offerings would be segregated from other offerings. That is the way a store should be.
    Happy New Year
