There seems to be interest in old floppy drives
There seems to be interest in old floppy drives
I remember Staples had a promotion running that you could get $50 credit towards buying a new printer if you take an old printer to the store. The good part was that the old printer could be REALLY old and they would still give you credit.
If you have a genuine IBM AT machine in working order (circa 1985) or a Compaq of the same vintage then there are collectors looking for those machines. Mind you, all parts should be there (monitor, keyboard, etc.).
I've many old computers stored away which I have been meaning to list on here for sale but never seem to get round to it. Apricot 20Mb, Apricot Xen-i, IBM 286 and 386s, a pro-build machine with Win 95 plus various peripherals like a 60Mb Christie Tape Streamer Duo with 5.25 floppy drive, Panasonic dot-matrix printer, Astra scanners, and also a Kyocera F1200 Laser printer, a SF7300 Sharp photocopier, etc. etc. Problem is those with hard disk drives need to be wiped of all sensitive data, and short of removing the drives for destruction, its not easy to find software that will permanently erase that data. Some of this stuff goes back to the 1970s !
