    Default 1964 US 5 cents

While clearing out me shed I found a 1964 US 5 cent piece. No idea where it came from.

Before I chuck it in the bin...It wouldn't, by some miracle, be a rarity and worth more than 5 cents would it?

If it's in uncirculated condition, it's worth somewhere between 25 cents and $2.00.

If it shows any wear at all, it's worth 5 cents.

In the bin it goes then.

I didn't really expect it to be worth anything. Just that some coins with certain dates on can be worth something.

May have spoken to soon. Don't chuck it just yet. My Red Book is eight months old, I did a little more research. If the nickel has only very light wear (About Uncirculated condition) it's worth around 75 cents US to a collector.

It's hard to keep track of these because the prices go up and down.

Not sure I'd be willing to chuck any form of currency in the trash. I'm still not too proud to bend over to pick up a penny in the street.

Nor am I as the penny is currency here. Don't think I would get anything for 5 US cents. And I certainly ain't paying to fly to the US just so as I could spend it.

    Long gone now anyway.

Drill a hole in it and sell it as a pendant amongst the craft items. A novelty! Probably could get $5 for it.
