From posts I have read on the other side, some people feel that there are basically no sales due to the fact the items with bids on, do not jump up & bite them on the nose while they are looking on ebid.

Obviously some peeps have not noticed the sellers feeback, if the items with bids do not jump out of the page at them they autimatically are assumming there are no bids.

Peeps do not always read the full listing, Payment details etc.
Some may expect to see a replica of the greedbay site, as they are used to that site.

I reckon you hit the nail on the head there, on other sites the bidding activity shows clearly, here it doesn't and I think the majority of folks looking don't realise there are any bids.

I haven't read the whole thread but I agree completely with this, and the whole idea of promoting bidding action.

Perhaps the reason most people are selling on BIN is that BIN is the most practical selling option for eBid precisely because the auctions aren't highlighted.

As has been said, this is supposed to be an 'auction' site: but you wouldn't really know that from looking at the listings.

Generating excitement is a great way to pull in the punters... and this would help the BIN-sellers too. Everybody wins.

    Another Ebid thread over there.

Titled - Whats all this Ebid stuff - failure big time.

Could not find the thread about the sellers items showing No Bids, with a poster explaining over & over again that you had to click on a listing with bids before you could see that sellers do have have bids on their items on Ebid.

IMO to potential new members it would look as if Ebid sellers do not have bids on their items.

Newbies to the site do not know how the site works, so would only go on first appearances.

They would be coming here expecting to check out things as they would over there, as that is what they have been used to doing.

I think being able to see the bids is very important; it heightens the excitement of being on a site. I just found out about a week ago how to find active sales. I've been here almost two months. I think it should have been apparent to me as a new person trying to get used to a new selling/buying environment.

No-one took me up on the challenge the other day to go look at my listings and tell me how many bids there were - I'm not surprised.

Since then I've sold 5 items and have bids on another 4 but you wouldn't know that from looking at my list of auctions. I can't help but think that if the bids were more easily seen there might be some competition over items.

Importantly though, it would show potential sellers that there is plenty of auction action going on here on eBid and sellers are buyers as well

It would also show newbie buyers at a glance that sellers items do sell on Ebid. Giving newbie buyers more confidence to bid on the sellers items.
It would show the Ebid knockers that the sellers items do sell on Ebid.
Show how far ebid as come recently., as ebid as improved week by week.

Potential new sellers to the site may be more willing to give ebid a go, more to Ebid.
