Rare and very collectable Antique George III/IV Sterling Solid Silver Soup, Stew or Serving Ladle, Hallmarked For INVERNESS SCOTLAND C1813, making this an (APPROX) 209 Year old Antique Treasure.
Fully hallmarked for ROBERT NAUGHTON registered from 1813 to 1857 in INVERNESS, SCOTLAND.
The Ladle is 33cm/13 inches Long, and weighs a whopping 240gms, it is of the FIDDLE or OAR PATTERN, it is monogrammed with the letters J.C. in script, please look at the pictures to decipher for yourself, it has a nice deep oval shaped bowl, although the ladle is big it has a very elegant feel to it.
The Hallmarks are rubbed but readable Makers mark RN the Cornucopia and the thistle ,the spoon is made of a very good gauge of silver.
The condition is very good Antique condition for a spoon that is 209 years old it has very little wear to the bowl, no repairs or damage, surface scratches commensurate with age, it has been used, a very collectable item of SCOTTISH PROVINCIAL silver that would grace any collection..
