A Very Large and collectable Antique George III Sterling Solid Silver Soup, Stew or Serving Ladle, Hallmarked For EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND 1789, making this an 18th Century 233 Year old Antique Treasure.
Fully hallmarked for ROBERT GRAY registered from 1785 to 1791 in EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND.
The Ladle is 34cm/13.5 inches Long, and weighs a hefty 187gms, it is of the OLD ENGLISH PATTERN, it is monogrammed with the single letter M. in script, please look at the pictures it has a nice deep good shaped bowl. although the ladle is big it has a very elegant feel to it.
The Hallmarks are very crisp and clear ,the spoon is made of a good gauge of silver.
The condition is good Antique condition for a spoon that is 233 years old it has very little wear to the bowl, a nice polished finish, no repairs or damage, a number of small dinks and dents to the bowl, surface scratches commensurate with age, it has been used, a very collectable 18th century item of SCOTTISH silver that would grace any collection..
