Hetman Ivan Mazepa is the first in a series of high-tech Ukrainian corvettes equipped with modern air defense, anti-submarine warfare, electronic warfare, missile and artillery systems. It will become the most powerful combat unit and flagship of the national military fleet, significantly strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities at sea. By the decision of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the construction of this ship began in the Republic of Turkey in 2021 and is being completed during the repulse of the Russian invasion.
