Sonderland Weather Vane Norway Octopus Dancing On String Painting Postcard

AOAP20+mk2* This is a rarely found specialist postcard of this painting of this unique work by Norwegian artist Oda Iselin Sonderland called Med Vinden that was part of an annual awards event with artist and painting identification on reverse which this award souvenir is unused and mint.  Oda is renowned for experimenting with themes of fairy stories and the unusual in their artwork and this appears to be an octopus type creature on a pole and string actiing as a weather vane to show the direction of the wind but I let you decide. 

With her figurative watercolour paintings, Oda Iselin Sønderland experiments with associations and complex narratives, often with references to fairy tales and mythology. Her use of symbolic elements and archetypal characters allude to certain experiences of identity, sexuality and puberty. Her work resembles that of dreams and the subconscious, creating a visual universe of her own psyche.
