V. Beridze Vakhtang Beridze is a Georgian Soviet art historian, Doctor of Art, Professor, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Georgian SSR. With the formation of the Institute of the History of Georgian Art (1941), at the invitation of Georgy Chubinashvili, he joined the Institute as head of one of the departments; in 1948-1957, he was Scientific Secretary of the Institute; on December 1, 1956, he was Deputy Director.
