Sapphire Fat Oval Cabochon: Blue with Mottled Pattern; 2.2 cts, Burma

Nice blue colors in a highly included gem that gets its sparkle from the internal veils and crystal growth boundaries. There is a tiny spot of matrix on one side that you could cover with a setting prong or disguise with a bit of dark wax. Though far from being a top piece, this is still a very pretty stone, and it does sparkle under sunlight or other strong lighting. An interesting and affordable piece either for your collection or a jewel design.
